Brian began his career with Gatewood Wealth Solutions in 2008, when he was recruited as the firm's third employee. From that intern role, he tirelessly took on increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities. Brian helped take our firm from $20 million in AUM to more than $534 million and qualify as one of Barron's top 1,200 advisers in the country. Today, he is Gatewood Wealth Solutions' Chief Financial Officer and a Lead Advisor and Partner in the firm.
As Chief Financial Officer, Brian creates the financial operation and standard operating procedures to manage our GWS financial statements, along with models for benchmarking compensation, budgeting, forecasting the P&L statement, valuation, and profitability by a product line unit. He oversees our trading strategy (intellectual property) purchases, financial advisors' books of business, and vendor agreements. Brian is also a GWS leadership team member, which continuously develops and implements tactics that have allowed the company to maintain a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 25% over the past five years.
In his dual role, Brian also serves as a Lead Advisor, creating, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive financial plans for clients. Brian is exceptionally skilled in asset allocation, security evaluation, portfolio rebalancing, tax-loss harvest strategies, low basis, concentrated stock position exits, stock option, restricted stock unit analysis, wealth preservation, asset preservation, and wealth transfer consultation.
Brian is a CFA® Charterholder and CLU® and holds his Series 6, 7 & 63 securities registrations with LPL Financial, as well as his Life and Health license.
PERSONAL
Brian and his wife, Ashley, live in Winghaven with their beautiful children, Ayla, Finn, and Lucy. Brian and Ashley are avid St. Louis Baseball Cardinals and Blues Hockey fans.
