Jeremy brings over 20 years of operational leadership experience to his role as Chief Operating Officer at Gatewood. His career spans P&L management, enterprise planning, EOS and GGOB implementation, and scaling multi-function teams across finance, HR, and operations.
Most recently, Jeremy served as Chief Operating Officer, EOS Integrator, and Chief of Staff at The Chamberlin Group in St. Louis, where he partnered with the CEO to lead daily operations, build long-range strategic plans, and drive quarterly execution against company-wide goals. As the firm’s first EOS Integrator, he established operating cadence, accountability rhythms, and organizational alignment across the leadership team. He implemented GGOB to formalize budgeting, forecasting, and the company’s first employee profit-sharing plan. Under his operational leadership, the firm achieved 50% annual growth for three consecutive years and earned recognition on the 2025 Inc. 5000.
Before joining The Chamberlin Group, Jeremy spent 18 years at Target Corporation, advancing through Executive Team Leader roles across store operations, assets protection, merchandise logistics, general merchandise and food sales. Across those assignments in Missouri, Virginia, and Illinois, he led high-volume operations generating between $35 million and $75 million in annual sales, driving comparable sales growth annually, and was recognized with Target’s Golden Contribution for Financial Excellence.
As COO at Gatewood, Jeremy partners with the firm’s leadership team to scale operations, strengthen accountability, and align execution with the firm’s long-term strategic vision, supporting Gatewood’s continued growth and its mission of delivering unparalleled care to clients.
Jeremy was born in Offenbach, Germany and raised as an Army brat, learning English alongside his mother after the family moved stateside. He considers Columbia, Missouri home and is a proud Hickman High School graduate.
Jeremy and his wife Jessica have been married for 18 years and together they are raising four kids: Cole (17), Adi (14), Gretchen (12), and Joshy (9), all of whom attend Living Water Academy in Wildwood, where Jessica also teaches art for grades K through 12. Family is central to Jeremy’s life. He grew up alongside his younger brother and best friend, Steven, who passed away in 2016, and treasures the time he gets with Steven’s son Leo, now 14 and gearing up to play football this fall.
As a family, the Mullens love being outside, pizza and movie nights, sporting events, and traveling to new places. In his own time, Jeremy enjoys reading, staying active with F3, grilling, and growing in his faith, ideally with a cold Pepsi One and some chicken wings nearby.
